Choose Your Chocolate Wisely this Valentine’s Day

Who doesn’t love a good piece of chocolate?  I have recently come to love dark chocolate over the past few years.  I used to be a fan of milk chocolate but have gotten most of the dairy out of my life lately.  I look for organic, vegan, fair trade dark chocolate w/ 70% cacao or more.  Check out the chocolate bar selection on your next grocery trip, there are tons of options!  Here is a link to one of my favorites, Endangered Species.  They donate 10% of profits to non profits who protect conservation and habitat preservation.

Cacao is a superfood, and it’s extremely high in antioxidants.  Antioxidants help to break down free radicals that are produced in the body from the environment, stress, and exercise.  Build ups of free radicals can advance aging and illness.  Check out the additional health benefits of dark chocolate here.  Are you convinced yet?
